At the beginning of this month, I participated in the Perry Outreach Program for high school women who are interested in pursuing careers in medicine and engineering. We heard from women leaders in these fields and tried it for ourselves by performing mock orthopedic surgeries and biomechanics experiments. Overall, I really enjoyed the event, and you can see some pictures below!
I also participated in the Brain Bee at MSU, where we had to learn a lot of facts on the brain from a textbook. At the Brain Bee competition, we were quizzed on these topics in a test format as well as an oral round. Psychology and the Brain has always been of interest to me, so I had a great time learning about it!
Because of the cold weather, the Michigan governor, Gretchen Whitmer, called for a state of emergency. As a result, we didn’t have school for two days. I had a great time relaxing at home those two days:)
