National Donate Life Month & Orlando Trip!

For the past three months, I participated in an event at the University of Michigan called htmladies. The HTMLadies program was a series of three day-long events hosted by GEECS (Girls in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) at U-M. The aim of the program is to teach high school students with little or no programming experience the basics of website creation and coding concepts. I learned from so many great mentors, and it was an especially great experience. I hope to use the coding experiences that I gained in this program, throughout my life. In this day and age, I feel it is very important to understand the inner workings of our technological devices.

Also, this April was National Donate Life Month, the purpose being to “encourage Americans to register as organ, eye and tissue donors and to celebrate those who have saved lives through the gift of donation.” April has been designated National Donate Life Month since 2003.

Lastly, I joined my school’s orchestra program on our annual spring trip. This year, we went to Orlando, and I really enjoyed it. We got to play in a competition, and placed 1st place. We also got to enjoy time as tourists in Orlando!
