April is Donate Life Month, so it was an amazing time to volunteer at the local Secretary of State Branch Office! The entire building was decorated with blue and green and organ donation supplies. This years Donate Life Day volunteering went extremely well! There were many people who signed up, thanks to all of the materials & decorations Gift of Life sent/put up in advance. Here are some pictures from that day! We enjoyed working with Ms. Kowalski, an Eversight Michigan volunteer! Ms. Kowalski also shared her story with us, about her late husband who donated both of his corneas to give the gift of sight to someone. Overall, it was enjoyable sparking conversations about the importance of organ donation with the people at the Troy SOS, even with those that were already signed up.
It's hard to believe that my first Bharathanatyam recital was back in 2009 with the Abhinaya School Of Dance! And here I am 10 years later, performing my Graduation dance "Shiva Thandava Stotra" during the Nritya Sandhya event. I would like to sincerely thank my Guru, Dhanya Vani Rao, for teaching me the oldest classical Indian dance.
